Directions to BU

Getting to BU using Public Transportation

Boston has a wonderful public transportation system (the MBTA), especially its subway system (also called the "T") which connects BU to various Boston landmarks, as well as to Boston Logan Airport. Detailed directions to the BU campus using public transportation is available from the BU Visitor Center. The PHO building is less than 150 steps away from the "BU Central" Subway stop on the Green B-line of the Boston "T" system. This is the second stop "above ground" in the "outbound" direction (away from downtown). If you are staying in the BU Student Residences at 10 Buick street, this stop would be the third stop (going in-bound, i.e. towards downtown), about 0.7 miles east of the BU Student Residences at 10 Buick street.

Driving Directions

For attendees who will be driving to town, and for those who prefer to have a car in Boston (and brave Boston's traffic and infamous drivers), detailed directions to the BU campus are available from the BU Visitor Center.  Public parking is available at many parking lots around the PHO building. Daily parking permits are available at rates that range between $10-$12/day. Parking lots are identified with "P" symbols on the Boston University Campus Map. Please note that parking spaces may be limited (and prices may be higher) due to special events held on campus (and to possible Red Sox games at the close-by Fenway park). To secure a parking space, you are encouraged to get in early.

Internet Access (Bring your Ethernet Cable and Wireless Gear!)

Bring your notebook and your networking gear! The BU Student Residences at 10 Buick street are all networked for wired access (bring a network cable along). Also, all meeting rooms will have 802.11b wireless Internet access (through DHCP). Also, wired 100BT access (through DHCP) will be available in an adjoining small room. More instructions will be available on-site.
