5/12/2011: CS101 is complete, and final grades have been submitted.
Final grades are not negotiatble, so please don't even ask.

PLEASE NOTE: I will out of town and will not be responding to any student emails before TUESDAY 5/17.
If you have concerns about your exam score, we can discuss it during my office hours in summer term or even during the fall semester.
Lack of planning on your behalf does not constitute an emergency on my behalf.

Here is the final grade distribution:

4/7/2011: Semester-to-date grades have been posted. You can view yours by logging into websubmit.
These grades now reflect the "dropped lowest homework grade", and the "dropped lowest quiz grade", but NOT lab attendance.
Please email your TF or me directly if you note any clerical errors.
2/8/2010: The CS department grad students tutoring hours schedule has been posted. These are tutoring hours you may visit in addition to our regular TF hours.
2/2/2011: On account of the weather, I've decided that we'll observe a snow day today. This means we will not hold class at our regularly schedule time, but you have an on-your-own assignment to do before Friday's class.
This is a great movie (albeit a bit dated) about the history of the Internet: Nerds 2.0.1 Networking the Nerds.
You should watch from timestamp 19:50 to the end (about 40 minutes), and make note of the most important characters, organizations and technologies that created the Internet. We will discuss briefly in class on Friday.
1/30/2011: I've decided to make a small schedule change, swapping the order of topics for the next 2 weeks.
The readings for Monday's class will be from the David Reed book, ch 3, pp 44-50.
1/24/2011: Text editors to try for HTML assignments:
TextWrangler (Mac); Notepad ++ (Windows)
1/4/2011: CS101B1 is the general section of CS101 for students in all schools other than SHA (e.g. CAS/SMG/COM).
Students in SHA should register only for CS101A1.

Class will begin on Wednesday 19 January in GCB 205.
