The Exchange Server went down due to a hardware problem
with the network card. All Services have been restored
as of midnight.

March 2005, 8:00AM:
Due to a networking problem csa2, csa3, cs3, and several
other systems at 730 Comm. Ave are off line. As a result,
several web services are off-line.

March 2005, 12:00PM:
Windows Print Services went down due to a hardware problem
with the network card. This had a 10-15 Minute affect
on DNS (same server) which affects internet usage and
possible exchange on some systems.

March 2005, 4:00PM:
The Exchange Server experienced a corrupt database and
would not mount until it was repaired and checked for
consistency. All Exchange Mail services are running smoothly
again (1:20 AM 3/23/05).

15 November 2004, 9:15AM:
The IMAP and POP servers for CS are down. The will be
up shortly.

October 2004, 9:15AM:
The failed piece of networking hardware at 730 Commonwealth
Avenue was replaced. Networking was restored to all the
affected servers.

October 2004, 1:00AM:
Due to a networking hardware failure the servers: csa2.bu.edu,
csa3.bu.edu, cs2.bu.edu, and cs-nts2.bu.edu are off-line.
Along with these servers, the undergraduate printers r2d2
and watercolors are also off-line. In addition to these
servers, the cs-rt.bu.edu and cs-wiki.bu.edu web sites
are down.

August 2004: New general purpose computing nodes
csa2.bu.edu and csa3.bu.edu are available to the entire
CS cluster. Please read this notice

April 2004: The server that will be replacing
csa.bu.edu is available for testing. The server's temporary
host name is csa-tmp.bu.edu. The server is an IBM eServer
xSeries 365 Intel CPU based server. Please read follow
this link for more information.

October 2003, 10PM - 19 October 2003, 10AM: All
home directories will be frozen during this time. Users
will have read access to their files, but they will not
be able to write to their home directories.
