Application Development Summer Internship

Overview:

Working for a global investment management firm in Boston , this individual will work in the Research Systems Group as part of the Information Technology team. The intern will be responsible for assisting other members of the group with a variety of projects while gaining exposure to the Financial Services industry and various technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate and resolve data integrity issues. 
• Write reports to check data for potential problems.
• Track down errors produced by production jobs and propose and develop solutions to permanently fix them.
• Build applications to view and maintain data from relational and time series databases.
• Build utilities to facilitate source control integration with development environments.

Skills:

• Understanding basic financial terminology and interest in Financial Services Industry.
• Experience with object oriented programming or desire to learn it.
• Understanding and some experience with relational databases.
• Knowledge of C++, shell or perl programming or some experience with Microsoft Visual Studio would be a plus.
• Web site development experience would also be a plus.
