Expectations of CS Graders
Thank you for agreeing to serve as a grader in the Department of Computer
Science. Graders are important contributors to the departmental teaching
mission. The following information is generally common-sense, but provided
mainly for completeness.
- Graders are to keep individual students' grades and performance on
assignments in strictest confidence. Such information cannot be discussed
with anyone except the course instructor or teaching fellow.
- Graders are to bring any potential or perceived conflict of interest to the
attention of the instructor immediately.
- Graders are to provide feedback in grading that is courteous and
constructive. Students should feel encouraged to learn and grow through the
feedback given on their course work.
- Graders are to carry out their assigned duties in a timely fashion.
Historically, the majority of graders have done an excellent job! In
the rare case when a grader violates the above expectations he or she will
be terminated.
