Subject: Shutting off call waiting when dialing into the school computers

You use some program to communicate with school via your modem.  Find
where the phone number to dial school is entered/stored.  Let's suppose
the phone number you use is 378-1111 (maybe you use another one).  You
you need to specify the telephone code to shut off call waiting in
front of the phone number, so you'd replace the phone number in the
program with:

  *70,378-1111

The '*70' is the telephone code to turn off call waiting for the current
phone call (call waiting will function again after you hang up).  The 
comma causes it to pause before it dials the number (this allow a little
time for the *70 to take affect before the number is dialed).
