Decoding Pictures from Newsgroups using Tin (Intro)


One of the sources of pictures on the Internet are newsgroups. The program we have used to read newsgroups is tin. Newsgroups, however, are traditionally a textual medium and pictures contained within newsgroups are encoded in a special format. This online lecture presents an example of decoding pictures in newsgroups using tin.
