Decoding Pictures from Newsgroups using Tin (Page 1)


Here, for example, are some groups you might see when you start up tin.

What we need to do is find a groups that contains pictures. Most newsgroups that contain pictures have the word pictures as part of their name. I happen to know that there is a fractal group with pictures in it, however. Since that group is not part of the groups to which we are subscribed, let's yank in the rest of the groups.

We can perform the yank command by pressing y (don't press RETURN after you press y).
