• The main idea of the paper: propose and measure graph metrics that quantify topological properties and describe concisely skewed data distributions

• Previous metrics based on minimum, average and maximum values are not good descriptors of skewed data distributions (they miss a lot)

• Data sets studied included:

  • inter-domain topology by the end of 1997 until the end of 1998
  • Use 3 real graphs corresponding to 6 months intervals
  • One instance at the router level: topology of the routers of Internet in 1995
