- Grading is subject to change.
- Possible bonuses may be awarded for assignment extensions.
- All assignments are to be done on an individual basis unless
otherwise stated.
- Discussion of issues related to assignments outside the
classroom is encouraged, but representing the work of another
student as your own is expressly forbidden. This includes
"borrowing" or "stealing" programs/solutions or parts of them
from others. Cheating will not be tolerated under any
circumstances.
Additional Comments
- Do not upload your code or class notes to public
repositories or file sharing sites such as github,
sourceforge, or dropbox.
- For individual assignments, do not work in groups and copy one
another's code and/or solutions to problems, even in part.
- Do not share solutions, exams, assignments, or class materials
in part or in full either via Internet sites or with your
colleagues unless given the consent of the instructor.
- Do not blindly search the Internet for code snippets or
solutions to problems. Stack overflow might seem a good place to
share ideas and find answers but it is often a case of the blind
leading the blind. Spend time thinking about ways to
tackle problems before panic sets in and you look for magical
answers from others.
- Do not sit with your smartphone, tablet or laptop "detuned"
from the class -- be involved.
- Class participation is strongly encouraged. Return the
instructor's efforts by putting in your own efforts too.
- Do not wait until the end of the class to ask questions.
Either wait until office hours or ask the question during class
time. Chances are, others will benefit from your question.
- Remember: what you get out is what you put in! To some extent,
the class is as challenging as you make it, although some people
will find it challenging regardless.
- Have fun!
