I came to Boston for the first time in September 2015 on a postdoctoral fellowship after Margrit offered me an
acceptance letter. I don't lie if I say that this opportunity has changed my life. I didn't feel it that much at
that time, but it was kind of a butterfly effect that continued through the years. At first Margrit was my
mentor but over the years she became my elder sister. We exchanged messages of personal matters as much as work
messages. The way she thought about me and her ongoing will to help even if I didn't ask was so touching. She
saw things in me that no one other did. She had no judgement but only trust in others. She always helped and
never posed obstacles. She always listened and never said anything that could hurt. I owe her a lot. I wish I
could be by her side on the tough days. I will always remember her laugh. Margrit was good and had such a big
heart.
Rest in Peace Margrit. You'll always be loved.
