You may send us your tax-deductible contribution in the form of a check or choose to pledge an amount to be paid later. We will gladly accept monthly or quarterly installments if you wish. Since we are a totally volunteer organization, all funds go directly towards the purchase of the property. In addition, as a not-for-profit organization our effort qualifies for many companies matching fund plans. We ask you to check with your employer and see if they offer such a matching fund program. In this way, your donation to the project might be multiplied.

If you plan to defer your generosity by pledging an amount for later payment, please complete the binding pledge agreement and send it to the address above. In addition to cash contributions or pledges, we are also encouraging donations of appreciated stocks. This practice will allow you a tax deduction in the amount of the full value of the shares on the day they are transferred and avoid any capital gains implications.
All contributions will be recognized with a letter that clearly notes your donation for tax reporting purposes. The project will also be commemorated, and your name included as a donor if you wish (or as "Anonymous") in a bound volume to be donated to the Scituate Historical Society. We plan to periodically publish a list of contributors in the Scituate Mariner if you would like your philanthropy to be publicly recognized. At the project's conclusion, we may also locate on-site a commemorative marker stone.
Although we are confident that we will meet our goal, if we are unable to raise the required funds before our deadline in February of 2002 only those donations greater than $100 will be refundable. All other amounts will be used to purchase and conserve properties elsewhere in the Town of Scituate. If you choose to make your contribution conditional, please indicate it by checking the appropriate box on the form below, your donation will be tax-deductible once the transaction is completed in 2002.
