RTDB Support for WWW Agents
The use of “servlets” (server-side applets) will enable clients to dispatch agents that execute on a Web Server to access large bodies of data. These agents will allow the monitoring of temporal data (e.g. financial data, space data) in real-time.
The use of agents is useless unless QoS guarantees could be given (e.g. the servlet will meet some periodic access requirement to the database).
Example proposals include BU’s Responsive Web Computing (RWC) project.
