Hello all,
(1) The final grade was initially based on 50 percent for homework
assignments and 50 percent for exams (20 % for midterm, 30 % for
end-of-term). We have changed the formula to: 60 percent for homework
assignments and 40 percent for exams (20 % for midterm, 20 % for
end-of-term).
(2) As mentioned in lecture already, we will compute the 40 percent for
the exams according to:
max { mid-term grade + end-of-term grade, 2 * end-of-term grade}
(3) Of the 10 problem sets over the entire semester, 5 will be graded. 6
of the 10 have already been posted. We will grade Problem Set 7 (posted
today, Nov 3) and Problem Set 9 (posted Nov 17). We will *not* grade
Problem Set 8 (posted Nov 10) and Problem Set 10 (posted Dec 1).
(4) Implementation Assignment 3 is due on Thursday, Nov 9.
Implementation Assignment 4 will be posted on Friday, November 10, and
due Friday, December 1.
Assaf
