CS101 - Discussion Sections

Meeting Times

Sometimes I will hold discussion sections in the computer labs (UNIX lab or Mac lab). When I plan to have discussions in the computer labs I will announce this the previous week either during class or via e-mail.

Each of the 4 discussion sections will cover roughly the same material as any of the others. If you cannot make the discussion section that you are assigned to, feel free to come to one of the other ones during the week. However, it is best if you can come to one particular discussion section each week.

  • A Program to Test if a Year is a Leap Year
  • Examples of for loops:
    • A loop to print out "Hi" 10 times.
    • A loop to print out the numbers 1 to 10.
    • A loop to print out the numbers from m to n, where m and n are entered when the program is run.
  • Examples of while loops:
    • A loop to print out the numbers 1 to 10.
    • A while loop that continually prints out a number entered by the user until the user enters 0.
